Sweet Nothings

New goal: Buy a 40-flavor Jelly Belly gift box, and win this contest. I love how I was at a huge candy store today, but hadn't yet read slashfood yet. Gah!

To look forward to

This is the second I've heard of the Elvis commemorative candy. They sound gross to me (I don't really like banana flavor), but I like the idea. They're coming out next summer, apparently, for the 30th anniversary of Presley's death.

The Elvis sandwich at Peanut Butter and Co. in NYC is more my speed. Hold the bacon. (I also recommend their Fluffernutter milkshake)

Trader Joes Fleur de Sel Caramels

I was going to review these caramels first. I was. See, I took a picture of the family cache.

Then slashfood and Candy Blog both reviewed them.

So I will just say that they are delicious and salty, but not too salty. If you subscribe to Cook's Illustrated, which you should, they just published a piece on how salt really DOES make a difference in how we taste things.

I am tempted to use them to make pecan turtles.
